About VCMC
VCMC gives 3 million private companies a valuation with its range where the data allows one, beside the last disclosed valuation where one exists and the funding rounds behind it.
What VCMC is
Every company in the index has a page with its valuation, its funding history and the companies most like it. Every investor has a page with its portfolio. Industry, city and country pages group the companies that belong together.
Two kinds of number appear on the site, and they are kept apart. A disclosed fact, such as a round's amount or a post-money valuation, is shown with its source. A VCMC valuation is the model's, always with a range from a low to a high scenario and a grade for how narrow it is. The methodology explains how the model works, where its figures come from and how close it has come to the prices companies later raised and sold at.
Built by Veridion
VCMC is built and maintained by Veridion, a global business data intelligence company. Veridion's data platform supplies firmographic, ESG, technographic, ownership and supply chain data to enterprise customers worldwide.
That platform is where this site's data comes from. The company profiles (name, website, location, industry, headcount) are Veridion's, and so is the revenue data the model uses and never publishes. Funding rounds come from public announcements that Veridion's systems find and read, matched to each company by its website. Data sources lists them in full.
VCMC is run by Veridion itself: SC Dataworks Research SRL is Veridion's legal entity, and its company details are on the legal page.
What we publish and what we do not
- Verifiable data only: announced rounds, disclosed valuations and public company facts. No rumours and no "reportedly raising".
- No revenue figures. The model uses revenue data, but a company's revenue is never shown or given back through its valuation.
- No pages about people. Founders are named in a sentence on their company's page, from public sources.
- VCMC's valuations are labelled as VCMC's, with their range, never as facts.
Corrections
If something on a page is wrong, write to contact@vcmarketcap.com with the page's link and, if you have one, a public source. Contact says what happens next.
Not investment advice
VCMC is for information only. Nothing on this site is investment, legal, tax or financial advice, an offer to buy or sell any security, or a recommendation of any company, investor or transaction.
VCMC's valuations are the output of a statistical model, each shown with a range from a low to a high scenario. They are not appraisals and not prices anyone has paid. Disclosed figures come from public sources, which can be wrong or out of date. Check anything you rely on with the company or a qualified adviser.
